Meet Denver Metro’s Leading Interior Designer

About Jamie House Design

Design that begins with listening and ends with a home that's entirely yours.

Good design doesn't happen from a distance. It happens when your designer is in the room when the contractor makes a decision that will affect everything. When she catches the problem before it becomes expensive. When she knows your home well enough to fight for the right solution, and has the architectural training to back it up.

Jamie House Design is a boutique interior design practice serving Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, and Castle Pines.
Intentionally small. Deeply present. Completely independent.

Meet Jamie
Principal Designer

I grew up in Texas, Colorado Springs born, but raised in Houston's suburbs, shaped by Texas Tech, and eventually planted firmly in Houston itself. Texas is where I built my practice, my reputation, and my eye.

Before settling into Houston full-time, I worked on projects in Dallas, Shanghai and across the U.S., experiences that quietly expanded how I think about space, scale, and materials. Then came Berlin. Four years living and designing there transformed my aesthetic in ways I'm still drawing on: European restraint, the discipline of choosing fewer things and choosing them better, materials selected for how they age rather than how they photograph.

The Houston years had quietly become something I hadn't expected, a reputation that kept growing even after I left. When I moved to Berlin, I did no marketing. The calls still came. Clients I'd worked with were referring friends, most willing to work with me remotely across an ocean. That meant something to me. It still does.

But Colorado was always where I was headed. Born here, with family in Centennial, I'd always measured other places against it. When it came time to choose where to raise my son; somewhere with mountains, family nearby, and the kind of community worth putting down real roots in, Centennial wasn't a fallback. It was the plan.

I came back and deliberately built something smaller than what I'd had before. Twelve projects a year. Enough space to be genuinely present for each one.

My own Centennial home is an ongoing experiment, currently obsessing over the kitchen, which I've redesigned three times and hope to actually start construction on soon, if I can stop from redesigning it a fourth time.

When I'm not on a job site, I'm in my garden, at an estate sale, or renovating something that probably didn't need it, but absolutely did.

What This Means For Your Project

You get an architect’s eye, not just a decorators.

Most interior designers specify finishes and select furniture. I also read construction drawings, understand structural systems, and know what's actually possible before anyone picks up a hammer. When I suggest removing a wall or reconfiguring a space, I'm not guessing, I know what it requires, what it costs, and whether it's worth it. For renovation projects especially, this saves my clients from expensive mid-construction surprises.

You get someone who knows how buildings get built.

I understand the construction process from foundation to final installation, not just the pretty end of it. I know which contractors deliver quality work in Centennial, Littleton, and the surrounding Denver suburbs. I know how to read a construction bid, when a contractor is cutting corners, and when to push back on "that can't be done." You need an advocate who understands both the design vision and the building reality. That's what I bring.

You get recommendations based on what’s right for you, not what’s easiest to sell.

I'm not tied to showrooms, vendor minimums, or brand relationships. I source from custom fabricators, trade-only suppliers, vintage dealers, and Colorado artisans; wherever I can find exactly what your project needs.
Every recommendation is made solely on merit.

When you work with me, you work with me.

Not a junior designer who gets handed your project after the first meeting. I'm present for every contractor conversation, every material decision, every installation day. Twelve projects a year means I have the capacity to actually show up.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A discovery call; no pressure, no commitment. We talk about your project, your timeline, your budget, and whether full-service design is the right fit for where you are. Many clients start with a consultation, which gives you two hours of expert direction you can act on immediately, and which applies toward full-service if you decide to move forward within 60 days.

  • At a larger firm, you meet the principal and get handed to a junior designer. With me, you get me; for every meeting, every site visit, every decision. That continuity matters more than most clients expect until they've experienced a project without it.

  • Almost nothing has to be new. Knowing what to keep, what to reimagine, and what to let go of is genuinely part of the design skill. I work with existing furniture, heirloom pieces, and cherished objects regularly; and I find the projects that incorporate them are often the most personal and interesting.

  • As involved as you want to be. Some clients want to weigh in on every decision; others hand me the keys and ask to be surprised. I work well in both directions. What I do ask is that we're aligned on vision and budget before construction begins; that upfront clarity is what prevents problems later.

  • Consultations are completed in one two-hour session. Partial design projects, kitchen or bath design, space planning, material selections; typically run four to eight weeks. Full-service renovations range from eight months to two years depending on scope, custom fabrication lead times, and contractor schedules. I give clients honest timelines, not optimistic ones.

  • I'd rather have an honest conversation about budget early than waste your time or mine. If full-service design isn't the right fit for your budget right now, a consultation may be exactly what you need; expert direction you can implement yourself, on your own timeline.
Honesty about budget upfront helps me help you to get the most distance for your budget.

  • I manage contractor coordination as part of full-service design. If you already have a contractor you trust, I'm happy to work with them. If you don't, I can recommend people whose work I know firsthand in Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, and Castle Pines.

  • “I moved to Houston in a tight housing market and all I could really afford was a “fixer-upper”. I found Jamie through Houzz (just read the profiles and thought she would be a good fit). The design and remodeling process took about 6 mos and it was, end-to-end, a great experience. Can’t recommend Jamie highly enough. Wonderful resource.”

    -E. Terry

  • “I found Jamie House Design on Houzz and after seeing her blog and learning her design process, I knew she was the right fit! We were just wanting Jamie to help select paints and here we are a year later with a fabulous home! We moved into an older ranch style home in Glenwood and Jamie has completely transformed our space into a gem! The original owners came over and said they wanted it back, haha! Jamie designed a brand new kitchen, family room, laundry with my own wrap room and a kitchenette off the “man cave.” I love that she asked us how we moved in our home and then married function with beauty into her design! She has given both of us what we want even when we were at odds over the decision. We have not been easy clients and Jamie has had such patience with our situation and has always done her best to make sure we were happy. She has very high standards when it comes to the people who work on our home. Every single contractor, landscaper, window treatment co. plumber etc has been a five star experience! We can’t say enough about Jamie House! We are so thankful that we found her and that Houston residents have access to this level of talent!”

    -A. West

She chooses all finishes inside and out; including cabinetry/trim, tile, counters, paint colors, electric/plumbing fixtures, landscaping, etc, etc.. Jamie and her team are a pleasure to work with and have played a big role in our reputation of providing high quality homes. Because I build spec homes, I give Jamie quite a bit of freedom in her choices; she consistently creates fresh and beautiful interiors that appeal to my buyers. Everyone loves her final product!”
